WHAT TO DO NEXT

Check Your Email

Check your personal and Oneonta email accounts regularly. Email is our official means of communication, and many important updates and reminders will be sent to you via email.
If you are not receiving emails from us, please call the Office of Admissions at 1-800-SUNY-123 so we can update your personal email address.

Pay Your Deposit(s)

Confirm your enrollment by paying your deposit(s). ($100 for tuition and $100 for housing) Deposits must be postmarked by May 1, 2023.

Payment Options

  1. Online: You can pay the deposit online on your Applicant Status Page: Forms Section, Reply Form - Undergraduate
  2. Mail: Make your check payable to SUNY Oneonta and send it to: Admissions Office, SUNY Oneonta, 108 Ravine Parkway, Oneonta, NY 13820

Transfer students: If you wish to live on campus, you should pay your deposits as soon as possible because on-campus transfer student housing is limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.

Activate Your myOneonta Account

All newly admitted students must register for myOneonta. To register, go to the user account page and follow the instructions provided. You will need your Oneonta username and student ID, which can be found in your acceptance letter.

Once registered, you can access myOneonta or follow the link at the top of any SUNY Oneonta webpage.

Upon paying your deposit, you will manage the following enrollment steps through myOneonta:

  1. Complete your housing questionnaire and application forms
  2. Access required student health forms
  3. Register for Fitness Center access

Submit Your Transcripts

Final High School Transcripts – an official final transcript (with signature or seal and date of graduation) must be forwarded to the Office of Admissions by your school counselor.

College Transcripts – a final official transcript from all colleges where you have completed classes for college credit must be sent directly from the colleges' Registrar's Office to the SUNY Oneonta Office of Admissions. The transcript it must include all coursework completed prior to enrolling at SUNY Oneonta, post any degree(s) received and have no incomplete or in-progress grades.

Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) scores - have your test scores sent directly from the appropriate testing agency to the Office of Admissions.

Now Complete the 2023-24 FAFSA at studentaid.gov as soon as possible. Initial award notifications will be sent prior to January 1 for admitted students who have submitted a FAFSA.

What to Do Next

Once you’ve confirmed your enrollment by paying your deposit, you can complete the course pre-registration survey (available in your Applicant Status Page) to provide information about courses that interest you. We will use the information you provide to create a fall 2023 course schedule for you.

Important Dates

First-year students

  • Complete the course pre-registration survey (available in your Applicant Status Page upon deposit) by June 30, to provide information about courses that interest you.
  • Your fall course schedule will be ready to view in myOneonta in early August and you will have the opportunity to make changes to your schedule in August.

Transfer students

  • Complete the course pre-registration survey (available in your Applicant Status Page upon deposit) by June 30, to provide information about courses that interest you.
  • Academic Advisement will creates preset schedules from mid-May through early June, and your schedule will be available to view through myOneonta. You will be able to make changes to your schedule in early July.

LIVING ON CAMPUS

From leadership opportunities to lifelong friends, living on campus will be a big part of your Oneonta experience. With a whole team to welcome you and all kinds of ways to get involved, you’ll feel at home right away.

All students living on campus have the Resident Dining Plan, which includes unlimited dining hall access, plus retail dining dollars that can be used at our on-campus coffee shops and marketplace.

Fall 2023 Move-In Dates

First-year students: Wednesday, Aug. 23 (for students who do not attend a Day One Orientation session in July) and Thursday, Aug. 25 (for students who complete Day One Orientation in July)
Transfers: Friday, Aug. 25

What to do now:

  • Submit your Housing and License Agreement by July 15.
  • Housing assignments will be available July 31.

ORIENTATION

The Office of Student Success will support your transition to campus through orientation sessions, peer mentoring and other programming.

All new students are required to participate in orientation. Our Day One orientation sessions for first-year students will start in July, with several dates to choose from. This one-day event is designed to ease your transition into college life and enable you to make connections with our community. Overnight accommodations are available and there will be concurrent sessions for parents and families. First-year students who attend a July session will continue their orientation at the beginning of the semester. Those who are unable to attend orientation in July will have a three-day orientation in August.

  • Day One First-Year Orientation: July 7, July 10, July 12, July 14, July 17, July 19. Or Aug. 24 (required for students who were unable to attend in July).
  • Day Two and Three First-Year Orientation: August 25–26
  • Transfer Orientation: August 26
