Intramural Programs
Our intramural programs include a variety of team and individual/dual sports. These structured activities are offered through a sign-up procedure, a competition schedule, supervision/officiating and a declared champion at the conclusion of competition. In order to meet the needs of all students, some sports are offered as single or double elimination tournaments, while many others are offered in a league format.
Club Sports
University club sports at Oneonta offer and opportunity for students to compete competitively with other universities, or colleges, but are not regulated by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and do not have varsity status. Some collegiate club sports can exist at schools that do have teams that are part of the NCAA or NAIA. We offer several club sports that are student-run and receive little financial aid from the school.

The Sports Recreation department offers a wide variety of sports equipment available for use free of charge on a limited basis.
- Equipment may be checked out at the Chase Physical Education building, Room 300 (third floor).
- A valid SUNY Oneonta ID is required to borrow equipment. ID must be presented when checking equipment out and in.
- Equipment can be checked out Monday thru Friday 9:00am and 9:00pm.
- Equipment must be returned on the same day as issued unless prior arrangements have been made with the Assistant Director for Sports Recreation.
- Please inspect equipment at the time of checkout. If the equipment is accepted by a patron for use, it is assumed that the equipment at the time of checkout is in good condition.
- Borrowers who lose or damage equipment assume responsibility for the cost of replacement.
- Late fees on all equipment are $5 for the first day and $1 for each day thereafter. Late fees not paid within 3 business days of return of equipment will be invoiced, and a $15 service charge will be added.
- Lost and found is located in the Equipment Checkout or the Intramurals Sports office. Personal electronic devices and keys can be found at the University Police office.
- Please note that the specific piece of equipment issued is what must be returned (e.g. if you check out basketball #6 you must return basketball #6).
