A decade ago, a group of SUNY Oneonta students created the SUNY PRIDE Conference to give queer and transgender students a space to feel seen, heard and supported. Last weekend, they returned to campus to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the conference – now called “PRISM” – and serve as keynote speakers.
SUNY Oneonta recognized National Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month with an array of educational and celebratory events and activities, from guest speakers to dining and dancing.
SUNY Oneonta has received the 2023 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education. The HEED Award is a national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
SUNY Oneonta’s comprehensive fundraising campaign, Grow. Thrive. Live. The Future of SUNY Oneonta, ended June 30 after raising more than $33.2 million in gifts, grants, pledges and estate-planning commitments and becoming the most successful fundraising effort in university history. Every donation to the Grow. Thrive. Live. campaign is providing new and expanded funding for student scholarships and program support.
Campus community members, area officials and special guests gathered this week to celebrate the official reopening of Alumni Hall after a multi-year, $22 million renovation that transformed the building into a state-of-the-art center for learning, meeting and innovation.
