As a powerful Nor’easter pummeled the East Coast early this week, bringing heavy snow and damaging winds and sending service and road crews into overdrive, three SUNY Oneonta Meteorology majors were in their glory, appearing live on The Weather Channel to give their expert opinions on the storm.

SUNY Oneonta and the Sidney Central School District have teamed up to create an innovative teacher training program that aims to give Oneonta elementary education majors immersive, in-depth field experiences while addressing the teacher shortage in the region.

State University of New York Chancellor John B. Ink, a 4-month-old black Labrador Retriever puppy, is making history at SUNY Oneonta as the first pup to be raised on campus for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, a nonprofit organization that provides guide dogs to people experiencing vision loss.

SUNY Oneonta is the new host of the SUNY COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) Center. The SUNY COIL Center serves the largest and longest-standing community of its kind, connecting 147 institutions throughout the world in a virtual web of cultural and educational exchange.
