Campus-Based Grants for Students

Student Grant Program for Research & Creative Activity

Funded by the SUNY Oneonta Foundation, Inc. and the SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association through charitable gifts and grants to SUNY Oneonta; administered by the University Senate Committee on Research and the Faculty Center (Scholarly Activities)

Spring 2025 Call for Applications

The Traditional Track awards funding for (I) independent research and creative activity (CA) projects conducted by undergraduate or graduate students with faculty sponsorship, and funding for (II) research teams working on a sustained research program. Budget requests are dependent on application type, as detailed in the guidelines.

The Shadowing Track is intended to broaden student engagement in research/CA, whereby a student with little-to-no experience joins a faculty member’s research/CA endeavor as an “observer” or a junior team member. Budgets can include up to $500 for project expenses + faculty mentor and ‘shadow’ student stipends.

The Summer Fellowship Track is intended to assist undergraduate students with costs related to participating in actively mentored summer research/CA including campus-based independent research/CA with faculty mentorship, research assistantships for campus-based faculty projects, or off-campus directed field work or other research/CA endeavor with a SUNY Oneonta faculty mentor.

Please contact a member of the Committee on Research if you have questions.
