SUNY Oneonta hosts several summer programs for various interests and ages. Some of our programs are directed by our own faculty, coaches, and students, while others are managed by outside private groups. Please review the links below for further information. 2022 Camps and Programs

Girl's Multi-sport Camp

Camp Start Date: July 11

8:30am-4pm

The Sport and Exercise Sciences Department at SUNY Oneonta will host a multi-sport camp for girls interested in learning a variety of sport skills while developing confidence, self-image, and a wide range of life skills for girls ages 9-11.

Camp counselors will include current athletes from a wide range of sports, as well as Exercise Science and Sport Management students. This camp is designed to develop basic fundamental sport skills and knowledge of a wide range of sports while teaching transferable life skills in the process. Our goal is to help develop a lifelong love and interest in sport and physical activity. Limited spots available. Lunch will be provided.

Oneonta Hoop Basketball Camp

Camp Start: June 27, 2022
Camp End: July 1, 2022

Boys and Girls basketball camp hosted at SUNY Oneonta for ages 6-17. The camp is led by head men's basketball coach Cameron Conover. The day camp runs from June 27-July 1 , starting each day at 9am and ending at 3pm. To register for the camp, please email Cameron Conover at cmconover@gmail.com.

Cooperstown Baseball World - CBW

Week 1: July 9-15, 2022

Week 2: July 16-22, 2022

Week 3: July 30-August 5

Cooperstown Baseball World is the only week-long tournament camp of its kind, owned and run by baseball professionals. Each summer tournaments are offered in the 12u, 13u, 14u 1nd 16u age categories, It features a college atmosphere, skills competitions, a visit to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, strong family interaction and induction for the Players and Coaches into the National Youth Hall of Fame!

Each summer, CBW utilizes seven fields total; four on campus and three off campus fields in the town of Oneonta. Additionally, our complex is equipped with six Major League style batting cages.

With the idea of home and road games, the 14U - 16U games are played at three full sized, state-of-the-art fields: the SUNY Oneonta Varsity Baseball Field, Damaschke Field, and the Neahwa Park Field. It is here at Damaschke Field that Babe Ruth played in the 20’s and where Bernie Williams, Andy Pettite, Al Leiter, and Jorge Posada all played in the 80’s and 90’s. This field was also home to the Detroit Tigers Class “A” team.

CBW hosts their Individual Skill Competitions as if it were a pro or college try-out giving a young player the experience of what needs to be done to make it in the Major Leagues! All winners are awarded a custom plaque, engraved with their category.

College United- Premier Field Hockey Camp

Depart: July 20, 2022

SUNY Oneonta will be hosting a Premier Field Hockey Camp. Colleges United will bring together coaches from 10 different institutions for the ultimate field hockey experience. All skill sessions will take place on the campus’s premier turf fields. Camp is open to ages 10-18. Resident campers $415 Commuter campers $365. Camp begins 12 noon on Sunday and ends 12 noon on Wednesday. Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity!

SUNY Oneonta Women’s Basketball Camp

Arrival: July 31, 2022
Depart: August 3, 2022

SUNY Oneonta Women’s Basketball will host a girl’s developmental overnight/commuter camp.

Camp counselors will include the present team members. The camp is designed to develop basic fundamentals of the game. Daily activities include: one on one and three on three instruction; fundamental stations; and games. The camp will be held July 31-August 3, for girls ages 10-18. Camp Registration begins Sunday evening at 5pm. Camp begins Sunday at 6:30pm and ends Wednesday at 3pm. Cost: Resident - $305 Commuter - $265

Groups of 5 or more from the same school may deduct $15 from the full price of the camp; provided all team members register together.

A $35 non-refundable deposit is required with this application and deducted from the cost of the camp.

Hoop Mountain NY Girls - Girls Academy Camp

Hoop Mountain New York Girls Academy is a 4 day, 3 night basketball learning experience. At Hoop Mountain New York Girls Academy we pride ourselves on teaching basketball from the basic fundamentals for beginning players to advanced techniques for experienced players. One of the principal components of the Academy is the teaching staff where our staff of college and high school coaches help campers learn both offensive and defensive skills needed to be effective on the court. To complement teaching stations, the Academy offers both individual and team competitions. These allow participants to put to use skills learned at stations. The combination of learning new skills and competing at appropriate ability levels insures that each and every camper at Hoop Mountain New York Girls Academy will improve from the novice hoopster to the experienced varsity player. The Academy will help you make yourself a better basketball player.

Oneonta Pop Music Experience (OPME)

OPME 2019 is a pop music camp that runs 9am–4pm Mon–Fri for , and is held at SUNY Oneonta’s Fine Arts Center, home to its Music and Music Industry programs. These weeks will offer participants specialized instruction on your instrument or voice and pop ensemble coaching, but will also provide an introduction to a variety of musical styles, music theory and ear training, songwriting, arranging, production and to playing live music. The week will conclude with a live show by all ensembles and a recording of the camp’s musical efforts!

OPME is mostly for teenaged musicians who have played a pop/rock band instrument such as bass, guitar, keyboard or drums or have sung in a structured setting for at least two years. Younger students may be considered if they have considerable experience, interest, and will do well at engaging in music activities for each of our camp days.
The tuition for the week (includes Dining Services lunch each day) is $350. Please register to confirm that there is still places available for your instruction/voice.

Munchkin All-Sport Camp

This summer the SUNY Oneonta women's soccer team will present the 25th Annual Eastman Associates Munchkin All-Sport Camp. The Camp has blossomed into a local retreat for children to grow socially and recreationally. Children will be exposed to games and skill instruction in a variety of activities to include soccer, tennis, racquetball, track & field, kickball, basketball, volleyball and T-ball.

GO STEM Institute:

IMPORTANT: GO STEM 2022 will happen! Right now we anticipate to run an in-person program based at SUNY Oneonta.

The Go STEM Institute is a one-week Science, Technology, Engineering and Math experience for young people going into grades 7-9. Facilitated by the CDO-STEM Council and the A.J. Read Science Discovery Center at SUNY Oneonta, the Go STEM Institute is a great opportunity for a science-motivated young person to get hands on with high technology and high concepts -- all while having a lot of fun! The 2020 Go STEM Institute will run from July 18-22 from 9am to 3pm. This Year's Theme: A Journey Through The Cosmos! Facilitated by SUNY Oneonta Astronomer Valerie Rapson, Ph.D.
