All five employees will be honored during spring commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 21, in the Dewar Arena at the Alumni Field House. The four SUNY Oneonta students who received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence this year will also be recognized.
Dr. Johnson comes to Oneonta from Dallas College in Texas, where she served as the inaugural associate vice chancellor of student wellness and support. She was selected as SUNY Oneonta’s next vice president for student affairs after an extensive nationwide search.
SUNY Oneonta students headed “Into the Streets” for the college’s annual volunteer day on Saturday, May 7, bringing back a long-running tradition that had been on hiatus for two years due to the pandemic.

Twenty-two Elementary Education majors paired up every Tuesday this semester to put their lesson plans to the test with students in a special STEM classroom at Worcester Central School. In place since 2015, the immersive teacher-training partnership gives pre-service teachers the chance to experience a full day in the field each week, working with students in pre-K through eighth grade in a clinically rich classroom.
